Natural Skin Care Remedies

Nature has given us many resources that are great for your skin. Here is a list of simple natural skin care remedies that you can try in the comfort of your home!

1. Kiwi 

Kiwi is a fruit that can cleanse and exfoliate. The seeds in the Kiwi act as a natural exfoliating agent. Kiwis are also a great source of vitamin E. Vitamin E has antioxidant properties that protect your skin from damage and prevents premature aging of the skin.

Mash a Kiwi and apply the pulp on your face. Leave for ten minutes and then wash off. Your skin will be refreshed from the goodness of the Kiwi fruit.

2. Honey

Pour some honey into a bowl, just enough for your entire face. Use your fingers to spread it on your face. Leave on for ten minutes and then wash off.

Honey is a natural moisturizer that has anti-microbial properties. It protects the skin from the harmful UV rays of the sun and has anti-aging properties. Organic honey is best for the skin.

Manuka Honey has great properties and is very good for your skin.

3. Strawberry and Lemon

Strawberries are great for your skin. They are rich in vitamin C that protects the skin cells and prevents the breakdown of collagen. Strawberries are also rich in anti-oxidants that protect the skin from damage and slows down aging and wrinkle formation.

Salicylic acid present in strawberries helps by removing dead skin cells, tightens the pores on the skin and brightens the skin. Strawberries help cure acne prone skin.

Lemons heal acne and remove blackheads. The citric acid in lemon juice helps to lighten dark spots and blemishes.

Here is a simple face mask you can make using strawberries and lemons -

  • Mash six medium sized strawberries in a bowl
  • Squeeze half a lemon in the bowl
  • Mix well and apply to your face. Leave on for ten minutes and wash off.

Aloe vera gel is soothing and nourishing for the skin. It has anti-microbial properties that help to kill bacterial infections. Aloe vera gel kept the skin supple and moisturized, it also helps to heal scars on the skin.

Aloe vera gel is rich in vitamin C. Vitamin C helps to boost the production of collagen and maintains the elasticity of the skin. This gel also helps to decrease pigmentation and dark spots on the skin.

Aloe vera prevents premature aging of the skin by protecting your skin from the UV rays of the sun. It heals wounds and scars on your skin. Apply Aloe vera gel on your skin, leave on for about five minutes and then wash off.

Coconut oil is rich in potassium, lauric acid, and antioxidants that are good for the skin. It keeps your skin hydrated and moisturized. It prevents dryness and flaking of skin. Coconut oil prevents sagging and wrinkle formation, thereby preventing aging of your skin.

Gently massage coconut oil on your face, leave on for a few minutes and then wash off. You can apply coconut oil before you have your bath in the morning.
